Building Supports for the Gender-Based Violence Workforce

Building Supports for the Gender-Based Violence Workforce

The Roadmap to a Stronger Gender-Based Violence Workforce is the culmination of intensive work conducted between 2022 and 2024 through EVA Canada’s Building Supports for the Gender Based Violence (GBV) Workforce project, funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada. Informed by the voices of GBV workers, experts in the GBV field, academic research, and grey literature, the Roadmap outlines a path forward to strengthen the health and wellbeing of the GBV workforce.

The Roadmap includes a series of documents which reflects work done over the course of the  project on GBV worker wellbeing. These documents include:

  • A Roadmap Framework which outlines the steps that need to be taken to achieve our vision for the workforce
  • Charting the Vision for the GBV Workforce diagram, which outlines a collective, long-term vision for the GBV sector
  • Findings from EVA Canada’s National Questionnaire on the GBV Workforce in Canada, which reports on findings from a questionnaire completed by 420 GBV workers across Canada
  • Infographics that feature key findings from EVA Canada’s National Questionnaire on the GBV Workforce
  • A literature review which provides a synthesis of recommendations on how to strengthen the GBV sector
  • Mapping our Collective Knowledge diagram which maps out work done over the last 5 years that relates to GBV worker wellbeing
